In addition to writing about zombies and disenfranchised artists, I'm also a TV reviewer for the most excellent website denofgeek.us. The shows I cover for Den of Geek include the CW's dystopian drama THE 100, SyFy's humans vs. angels series DOMINION, and Cinemax's hard-hitting BANSHEE.
You can check out my various reviews here. And if you haven't checked out any of these shows, you really should. THE 100, especially, is must-viewing for fans of Ronald D. Moore's Battlestar Galactica. And while you're at it, you should really explore Den of Geek, too. This sci-fi/fantasy/superhero-friendly website is bursting at the seams with coverage of movies, comics, video games and so much more. (I'm embarrassed to admit how much time I've spent on this site. It's addictive!) This has been a very busy year for me, creatively speaking. Not only was my second novel, BLINDING THE FINCHES, published this past July, I had booths at three different conventions (Walker Stalker Con in Georgia and New Jersey, and ComiCONN in Connecticut). I'll be honest, I love doing cons--it's the best way to meet new readers. Plus, there's something incredibly gratifying about being able to put my work directly into people's hands. In addition to the new novel, I made a LOT of headway on MEMENTO MORI, the sequel to POSTHUMOUS. I'm very excited about the sequel, and I hope readers will find the new book worth the wait. As of now, MEMENTO MORI will be available Summer 2015, but I hope to share excerpts from the book before then. For those of you who may have read POSTHUMOUS, I appreciate your patience in waiting for Book Two. Your excitement and support means a lot to me as an author. In the meantime, feel free to contact me with questions or comments about the Cadabra Rasa Series--or any of my other projects. Like I said, it's been a busy year, but I'm not creating in a vacuum. For those of you in the Atlanta, GA area, I'll be at Walker Stalker Con October 17 - 19. I'll be offering WSC-only pricing on everything from my novels to Melancholy Greeting Cards. Stop by booth 220 on the second floor of the AmericasMart convention center and say hi!
And December 13 & 14, I'll be at Walker Stalker Con at the Meadowlands in NJ. Hope to see you there! People often ask me what my middle initials stand for. The S is for Sam, my middle name, and the E is for Engel, which is a family name. I wish those two initials stood for something more interesting or mysterious, like Somnambulistic Earwigs--or even Sentient Escalators, but I guess Sam Engel will have to suffice.
Thanks for visiting my blog. I'll be posting conventions and appearances here, as well as updates to my various projects, like the Hairbat graphic novel (Fall 2014) and the Posthumous sequel (Summer 2015). Until then, may Supple Echocardiograms (or even Skulking Endodontists) be with you. Yours in melancholy, DSEZ |
